Why Wrapping Matters

Without wrapped tokens: BTC holders can't access Ethereum DeFi. Wrap BTC as WBTC: earn 5-8% APY lending on Aave, trade against USDC on Uniswap, provide liquidity on Curve. 1 WBTC holder has more optionality than 1 BTC holder. 3. WETH, tBTC, cbBTC & Alternatives

WETH (Wrapped Ethereum)

Security Considerations

Proof of reserves doesn't guarantee access. Scenario: BitGo multisig addresses confirmed to hold 1,485 BTC. But private keys compromised (insider theft, external hack).
